Partner Jeff Hagen was a featured panelist on a panel focusing on taxation of international trusts and estates at iLaw, the Global Forum on International Law, the flagship conference for the International Law Section of The Florida Bar. He spoke on the panel alongside Alyssa R. Wan of Fowler White Burnett, P.A. and Gerry Joyce of Fiduciary Trust Company International. Jeff’s portion of the panel focused on how an individual’s control over “substantial decisions” with respect to trusts can cause a trust to be taxed, or not taxed, in the United States.
