George R. Harper – 10/21/42 – 2/20/17 Was recognized as a leading attorney in the field of Latin American – U.S. business transactions. International legal projects with which he has had significant experience include operating and finance aviation equipment leases, foreign debt renegotiations, asset-based lending, distribution agreements, franchising, licensing, and commercial transactions.
Formerly the Chairman of the International Law Section of The Florida Bar, Mr. Harper received his B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami Law Review. He was named to the Hispanic Business Magazine Legal Elite list and is a recipient of the Inter-American Law Review Lawyer of the Americas
Active in civic affairs, he has served on The Salvation Army Advisory Board, as President of the University of Miami Alumni Association, and as Chairman of the Board of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, where he is presently a member of the Board of Endowment. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at both the University of Miami School of Law and St. Thomas University School of
