On November 7, 2024, Harper Meyer Partner Michael Dribin gave a presentation titled “Legislative Updates including Income and Principal Act” to the Coral Gables-South Dade Estate Planning Council. The event brought together estate planning professionals and industry experts to learn about the latest legislative developments in estate planning, including an overview of the Uniform Fiduciary Income and Principal Act (UFIPA), which was recently adopted by the state of Florida as part of a modernization of its laws related to the administration of estates and trusts. Other topics covered included the most recent changes in tax laws, fiduciary duties and responsibilities, and an overview of some of the latest estate planning tools and techniques.

The presentation, which also included a networking session and a dinner buffet, allowed attendees to dive deep into the intricacies of the ever-evolving estate planning landscape, giving them actionable takeaways and the latest information to navigate potential challenges and capitalize on new opportunities in their practices.
