Harper Meyer is very proud to sponsor and to have founding partner James Meyer represent the firm as a member of the Host Committee at the Ayiti Community Trust’s (ACT) Annual Gala – Byen Chèlbè. The event will take place on October 15th, 2022, at the Paradise Plaza in Miami’s Design District.

This year’s gala aims to raise awareness and funds for ACT’s mission of building a sustainable Ayiti and honor Haitians in the fashion industry. Guests will have the opportunity to meet this year’s Haitian fashion industry honorees, enjoy delicious Ayitian cuisine, and enjoy performances by KLASS Band and the NSL Danse Ensemble. Additionally, attendees will be able to participate in a silent auction for a chance to win one of eight vacations to some of the most iconic destinations in the world. Another evening highlight will be the presentation of The Grandèt Award, which will be given to Ertha Pascal-Trouillot in honor of her legacy, leadership, determination, and commitment to Ayiti.

The theme of this year’s gala, “Byen Chèlbè,” accentuates the beauty of Haiti and its creative and talented people — a country with so much to offer to the world.

The ACT was launched in 2016 as an effort to bring sustainable development in Haiti. It supports Haitian-led organization in Ayiti that are pioneering breakthroughs in one or more of the pillars of civic education, the environment, and entrepreneurship. The Trust’s mission is to support and sustain development innovation in these areas in order to improve the quality of life for all Haitians. It uses a community foundation model supported by an endowment to encourage Haitians and friends of Ayiti to engage in Haitian-led asset-based innovation.
